Between 2004 and 2013 the RBGE hosted 64 PhD students from more than 20 countries. Following the completion of their studies, more than two-thirds of these students were employed in either permanent or temporary research posts related to their field of studies.

Student Profile

In 2013, Lorna Stoddart began a PhD at the University of Edinburgh and the RBGE, funded by the AHRC, on Botanical Education and Civic Science: The Work of John Hutton Balfour (1808-1874) based on the collections in the RBGE Archives.
