PhD Collaborations

The National Archives participates in the AHRC-funded Collaborative Doctoral Partnership (CDP) programme. We belong to the Thames Consortium along with the National Maritime Museum and the National Portrait Gallery.

Our CDP studentships are delivered in partnership with universities, with each student being jointly supervised by one of our staff and a university supervisor. Find out more about our collaborative PhDs here: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/about/our-research-and-academic-collaboration/collaborative-phds/

Complementing our studentship programme, The National Archives provides postgraduate archival skills training (PAST) to students across the UK. PAST introduces students to conducting archival research and offers advanced workshops for subject-specific records.
