The Natural History Museum has a vibrant postgraduate research community with over 150 PhD researchers working on different environmental topics. Because the museum does not confer degrees, all Natural History Museum students are registered in a partner university. The Natural History Museum collaborates with dozens of universities to deliver high quality postgraduate supervision and training and host PhD student placements. We are involved with a range of Doctoral Training Partnership consortia funded by different UKRI research councils.
Students at the Museum have the chance to develop their research, public engagement expertise and co-organise an annual work-in-progress conference. We have an active student community and student committee who organise socials and cohort activities, as well as a dedicated Graduate Centre for working.
