phd collaborations

We host around 40 PhDs, many of whom are international students, via several collaborative programmes with Universities in the United Kingdom. Additionally, our specialists co-supervise students at Universities around the world, as part of our firm commitment to knowledge sharing.

The unique combination of our collections, expert scientists and horticulturists, and vibrant public engagement and education teams provides our postgraduate community with an exciting opportunity to apply and communicate their research from day one.

PhD students working with us may be based at our Edinburgh site for much of their programme, or be campus-based with regular supervision and access to our collections and facilities.

We also run an internationally acclaimed 1-year MSc in Biodiversity and Taxonomy of Plants with the University of Edinburgh.
