PhD Collaborations

The National Archives participates in the AHRC-funded Collaborative Doctoral Partnership (CDP) programme.

Our CDP studentships are delivered in partnership with universities, with each student being jointly supervised by one of our staff and a university supervisor. Find out more about our collaborative PhDs.

We supervise a range of collaborative PhD students, many of which are funded through the CDP programme. Read more about our current students.

Complementing our collaborative PhDs, The National Archives provides postgraduate archival skills training (PAST) to students across the UK. PAST introduces students to conducting archival research and offers advanced workshops for subject-specific records.
