PhD Collaboration
The Science Museum Group has hosted more than 60 doctoral students engaged in research. Our students develop knowledge, gain professional experience and contribute to a many programmes and projects.
We co-ordinate the Science Museums and Archives Consortium, comprising the Science Museum Group, BT Archives, the Royal Geographical Society with IBG, the Royal Society and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. We hold an AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Partnership Award, enabling us to fund three doctoral studentships per year. We also work with a range of university partners on other Collaborative Doctoral Award projects.
Current projects examine diverse topics, including textile innovation, the curation of climate change, the Science Museum's art collection, industrial imperialism, and railway accidents.
