Research Resources

Research opportunities at Historic Royal Palaces are distinct from those of Higher Education Institutes and, as a consequence, our resources are appropriate to our research outputs. In addition to scholarly monographs, articles and lectures these include the conservation and re-presentation of historic buildings, interiors and collections; exhibitions and displays; Conservation Management Plans and other professional literature; broadcasts and digital presentations; innovative learning and interpretation programmes and materials.

Our key resources are the buildings and collections themselves, and surviving archaeological evidence for earlier structures, landscapes and material culture.

Historic Royal Palaces provides research access to its buildings and collections, including its reserve collection, and their research records. It plans to publish parts of its collection online, and to provide online access to its Conservation Management Plans.
